The School were well served by the intermediate trio, Grimiths, Leriou and Caro, whose tenacity in checking the Police raids was the main asset of the School defence. The majority of their attacks were initiated by the wingers—Dobrenky. though timid, being highly successful in bringing the ball into the Police territory, while Billy Tingle was the moving spirit of an aggressive, fast, forward For the Police there was no one outstanding in the attacking department but the half-backs worked ike Trojans. There was a loophole in the last line of defence. while Bulpin was rather shaky between the posts.
