The management of the Arcadia have great things in store for their patrons tomorrow night, inasmuch as they are presenting an entirely new show, the surroundings apparently being a matter of some secret, They have gathered together a number of artistes whom they describe as the "Sude-Gpsee." This title will convey little until one has seen it, but much mystery surrounds it, Needless to say the show will be one of the outstanding in the annals of Shanghai's entertainment world.
There are no less than nineteen persons taking part, and, it goes without saying, that the majority have had metropolitan experience, With Serge Ermoll assisting, the affair should be a grand success.
Service Featured An outstanding feature of the Bolero Night Club, and one obviously appreciated by patrons, is the service. Trained foreign waiters serve guests, under the direction of a foreign head waiter who came to Shanghai with a background of more than ten years in famous night clubs of Europe. The Bolero waiters speak English and at least two other languages, including French. The Bolero remains open until 7 am. with dance music until closing time. Music by Harry Fisher's swing band, and the principal entertainer is Fred Fobau.
Alice Faye will get a chance to sing in her latest starring vehicle, "Little Old New York," after all. She has her fans to thank for it. Originally there were no songs in the picture as Darryl F. Zanuck, 20th Century-Fox production chief, had decided that Alice had done enough singing on the screen and that hereafter the emphasis should be placed on her talents as an emotional star.
