Foreign Experts" With Reds

Helsinki, Feb. 20.

The presence of "foreign experts" in the Soviet Air Force was confirmed during the past few days by the series of large-scale raids and more effective methods used in that time, qualified military observers reported today. Red bombing attacks are openly aimed at undermining the morale of the Finnish people and, the same circles stated, a guiding hand behind the scenes may now be discerned in the greater efficiency shown by the Soviets, Roaring over Helsinki today, Red bombers rained missiles on the sub-verbs indiscriminately, seemingly not even trying to find military objectives, and then turned their heavy machineguns on those hapless civilians who could not find shelter in time, it was reported here.

Six air raid alarms sounded in the capital today. Shortly after the second, Soviet warplanes zoomed over the horizon, then spilled out a detachment of parachutists over the western suburb of Helsinki. Three of the parachute fighters landed safely and were taken prisoners in the ensuing skirmish. The rest were killed, the Finnish authorities stated, This parachutist attack was not the first of the Finnish-Soviet hostilities for similar attacks have been made in the far noth of Finland. In no cases to date have they met with success.—Havas.
