Appeal Made for Men and Arms London, Feb. 20.

Yet another appeal for men and arms was made last night by. the Finnish spokesman in London, who admitted that the Russians had penetrated deeper into his country.

The Russian advances, though serious, were by no means decisive, he said, The Finnish first-line defences had been pierced at two points, but it was too early to say what the effect of these Russian successes would be.

"There are other organized defences" the spokesman declared, "which are still intact, besides natural obstacles, and the situation is by no means disastrous yet, If Finland is to be saved, the time has now come when sympathetic and friendly speeches must be turned to deeds, This means men, aeroplanes, artillery and ammunition, so that the last-named shall not be rationed on our front lines."

The spokesman said no volunteers had yet left England for Finland, but that two ambulance units were on the Way.—Reuter.
