Alfonso's Bedside

Special Wish Not to Be Photographed After Death Will Be Observed

Rome, Feb. 28.

In addition to the Royal Family, his two physicians, his Father-Confessor, a Spanish Jesuit priest (Ramon G. Lopez, and Sister Teresa, who had nursed him throughout his illness), were present at his bedside when ex-King Alfonso XIII of Spain died.

His chamberlain, Count de Los Andes, immediately informed the Italian Royal Family, the Vatican and the Spanish Government of the former kings death through the Spanish Embassy and the Quirinal.

The Prince of Piedmont, heir to the Italian throne, was the first, to pay his respects after the death of Alfonso.
