Allies Have Most Men

The "New York Telegram" prints a Washington dispatch stating: "An authoritative survey from oficial sources revealed today that the Allied Powers have total trained land, sea and air forces of 8,500,000 men to face 7,250,000 estimated German effectives in the event of a Blitzkrieg in the Spring," states a special commentary issued here today.

The commentary adds the "New York Times," in an editorial entitled "Allied Ships in-the Arctic," declares that the Allied blockade has already driven the German merchant fleet from the high seas. Its presence in the Arctic, the paper adds, is a sign that no corner of the.sea is safe for German vessels or for ships trying to bring sinews of war to the blockaded Reich.—Reuter.
