London, Feb. 26, Germany is trying to' mediate in the Russo-Finnish war and Russia is willing to accept such mediation provided she attains a face-saving vielory, the diplomatic correspon dent of the "Sunday Dispatch" reported yesterday.
Germany will attempt {0 hasten. Russia's face-saving victory," the correspondent said, by threatening {o use force in preventing the pass~ age of foreign volunteers to Finland through the Scandinavian countries.
Germany at the same time wa said to be guaranteeing Scandinavian, neutrality if they remain out Finnish war, Germany was said to have warned the Scandinavian Powers that unless their neutrality was more amenable to the Nazi point of view, Germany would be. foreed, eeatise of the British naval blockade, to smash Scandinavian trade by preventing Scandinavian ships from visiting British ports.
Germany at the same time offers to take over Scandinavian trade with the Allied Powers to compen. gate them for their losses resulting from the naval warfare, the corres~ pondent said.—United Press.
