New York, Mar. 1. Conditions in the cotton market were easier, with prices early declining on March liquidation and speculative selling and later sagged further on Bombay and Liverpool selling and liquidation. Closing quotations ranged from 11 to 14 points down from the previous final levels.
Quiet and featureless conditions prevailed in the market for raw rubber futures, as speculative interest was lacking, while the easiness of securities had a dampening effect on sentiment. At the last call over, losses from 1 to 14 points were recorded, Values in the Chicago Wheat Pit again moved lower today on reports of beneficial rains in the South-West, Eastern selling and uncovering of stop-loss orders. At the final bell, quotations were 2% cents down.—Reuter.
