"FABRICATION" OF NEWS DENOUNCED

A vehement tirade against rumourmongering, with malicious intent, on the part of the Japanese press during critical moments was launched by Gen. Ho Ying-ching, Minister of War, in a speech given at the weekly Sun Yat-sen memorial meeting at the Central Party Headquarters this morning.

The dissemination of fictitious "reports," disguised as " authentic news," in the pages of Japanese newspapers and magazines, Gen. Ho emphasized. has. all along been utilized as one of the weapons of Japanese imperialism in this country.

The ulterior motive behind incessant fabrication of "news," the Minister said, was to create ension among Chinese government leaders, or between the Central Government and the provincial authorities, or between the Government and the people. Gen. Ho's speech was evidently prompted by a rumour circulated by a Japanese daily on Saturday, alleging the occurrence of a military coup d'etat in Nanking, in which Gen. Ho. was reported to have been, detained.
