inbers agreed with the Chairman's proposal that in the light of the challenge on the part of a section of the public to the continued existence of the Orchestra and Band, as evidenced at the last ratepayers' meeting, every avenue should be explored to ensure the operation of the Orchestra and Band at minimum cost and to increase its income. Reference was made to the recent increase in prices of admission to cinemas. The Conductor was directed to submit a report detailing his recommendations for increased admission prices for the Coming Summer and Winter season performances of the Municipal Orchestra and Band.
The Chairman referred to the neces sity to re-constitute for the current municipal year the Business Sub-Committee which cares for the administrative side of the Orchestra and Band. It was agreed that the Sub-Committee in office for the previous municipal year, composed of Messrs. L. de Luca, Eh. Grosbois and E. F. Harris, be appointed in the same capacity for the ensuing year, with power to add to their number if they should consider fit.
