Less Butter, Sugar For Britons

Rations Cut Down; Bad West Indies Crop London, May 16.

Lord Woolton, the Minister of Food, in a broadcast last night announced the following reductions in ihe weekly ration allowances:

Butter, from eight to four ounces, from June 3.

Sugar, from 12 to eight ounces from May 27.

Bacon will also soon be reduced.

Glucose will be rationed from June 1.

The reduction in sugar has been necessitated by the failure of the West Indies crop.—Reuter.
