Berne, May 16.
The Swiss Minister to Rome, Dr. Paul Ruegger, and his wife, were insulted outside the Swiss Legation on Tuesday night, because they were speaking to each other in French, according to the Swiss newspaper "Neue Zuercher Zeitung."
When they returned to the Legation they found a group of people in the act of sticking on its walls, posters bearing aggressive statements against a state with which bóth Switzerland and Taly have friendly relations.
Dr. Ruegger immediately demanded that the extraterritoriality of the building should be respected. Police speedily arrived and re-established order.—Reuter.
