Precision Essential

Of the "Jupiter," one cannot say as much. Whether it is the early and middle homophonic period, or his later contrapuntal grasp, Mozart is ever' subtle and refined in detail Precision is therefore essential in the voiding of his art, and it was this quality which the Municipal Orchestra failed to provide.

The only thing that can be said for the Serenade from Charpentier's "Impressions d'Italie" is that if the con-carted colli had played as well as Mr. Podushka's solo viola, the piece would have been a great success, As it was, they were neither in time, nor in tune, and since they play in unison, there is little left io s carpentier, however, was redeemed (and so were the cellists) by the defines with which the second number of this tuneful suite was played.

"No complaints on the score of the "Capriccio On Spanish Themes;" it was let off with great success.—n.
