In reply Col. Mann said.
"It is my pleasant duty to thank you, on behalf of the guests, for in-yiting us to this pleasant function which, like everything else- undertaken by your company, has been efficiently organized and well run.
"The way you have responded to the demands of your indefatigable O.C. fills me with respect for your grit and determination. The results are certainly becoming apparent, as you are gradually taking on the aspect of a good all-round unit—the sort of thing we want—people who can deal with their own specialist work efficiently, and also with or-Ginary infantry work. The way you have buckled to make yourselves proficient in the latter must be highly gratifying to your O.C, as it is satisfying to me and my staff.
"The way in which Captain Miles blossomed out as an author and a radio lion in addition to his manifold duties both within and without the Corps, not forgetting the time which must necessarily be devoted to the ordinary processes of bread-winning; leaves one to wonder what he does with his spare time! But one thing is certain—whatever he does he does well, and you are highly fortunate in having him for your O.C.
"There may be difficult times ahead but. if you will continue to follow his lead and give him your full support we at Headquarters will know that we have under. our hands a unit which will acquit itself well.
