Four U.S. Oil Companies Accept Compensation

Break in United Front Seen In Mexican Dispute

Mexico City, May 8.

The President of Mexico, General Lazaro Cardenas, has approved an agreement signed at Washington by the Mexican Ambassador, Dr. Don Francisco Castilla Najera, under which four oil companies will receive $8,500,000 for their expropriated properties, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Finance.

The greatest importance is attached here to the agreement as it constitutes a break in the united front adopted by foreign oil companies whose property has been taken over.

Ah four companies are under the Sinclair control.—Reuter.
