In the small forts along the coast where the German motorized units have appeared, small boats have been sunk by gunfire, The whole area was swept by German bombers iù cooperation with the tanks and infantry rolling about the countryside in armoured trucks.
Bombers ce-operated in the systematic destruction of the countryside by dropping incendiary bombs, but, strangely enough, they respected important docks and warehouses in Boulogne, Calais, and other big Channel ports.
The active field commander of these forces of destruction was one of the first generals to rally to Herr Hitler's National Socialism long before there appeared to be any chance of Herr Hitler assuming power. He won his reward as soon as the Nazis took (Continued on page 8, col. 4)
