"Gentlemen, on behalf of the President, the Committee, and members of the Royal Air Force Association of Shanghai I dedicate this panel to the lasting memory of Major William Ernest Holland, a founder member and Past President of this Association, who lost his life while serving as a Flying Officer with His Majesty's Royal Air Force in England on December 10, 1940—May His Memory Never Fade.
"Apart from being a fitting t£lbute to a gallant. member of this Association, the panel by its inclusion of a donation box will be an unique reminder of the existence of the "Bill"
Holland Endowment Fund, set up with the object of granting relief to Air Service Members of this Association or their dependents in case of need after the war. The amount in this fund now stands at Ch.$4.610, which amount is being invested with the Shanghai War Savings Association.
"Gentlemen, although this panel is specifically dedicated to the memory of Bill Holland, we regard it also as 9T" symbolic tribute to all those gallant lads, who have flown and fallen, and whenever we look at it we should call to mind our Prime Minister's immortal words, Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many io so few."
