Britons Suffering War Damage to Be Aided

Government Assistance for Those with Low Incomes

London, June 7.

Sir Kingsley Wood, Chancellor of the Exchequer, announced in the House of Commons new war damage arrangements designed to give immediate help to those whose incomes Era are below certain limits and cannot readily replace damage.

Amounts will vary according to individual needs. Furniture advances will be made where total income of a household does not exceed £1,400 and the maximum advance will be £50 or the amount of the damage wherever it is less. Maximum clothing advances will be from £10 to £30 according to the number of dependants in a household.—Reuter.
