Cate succeeded in advancing into the second round of the Mixed Doubles by defeating Robin P. C. Chen and Miss Rosita Chu in straight sets by 6-3 and 6-2. Their next opponents will be Mr, and Mrs, B. Krenov.
Meanwhile, the combination of Mrs, T. M. Burton and Miss M. S. Holwill entered the semi-final of the Ladies' Doubles winning at the expense of Mrs, D, G. Mirams and Mrs, W. C. Cassels by 6-3 and 6-1 By virtue of their victory, Mrs, Burton and Miss Holwill will now encounter Mrs. H. Collaco and Miss M.
