Less than'a month ago, Russian auxiliary detective, E, Ivanoff, met death under very mysterious circumstances when a bomb exploded in a house in Route Frelupt and killed him instantaneous-

Exactly a week later, another Russian member of the French Police met a tragic end. This time it was Sub-Inspector P. M. Yankovsky of the Political Section of the French Police, who yas shot by an unidentified Chinese gunman after the latter had rung the door bell and made sure that the man, who opened the door, was the person he intended to kill,' Both cases have so far remained unsolved and no clues whatever were left by the criminals. It appears from the information given out by the French Police after day's shooting, that the attempted assassination of Lieutenant Blanchet will also go on the files of the Crime Branch as another of those unsolved mysteries.
