Vichy, Sept. 4.
The French Finance Ministry, one of the oldest Government bureaus, is shortly to undergo thorough reorganization to meet the greater demands on it since the state is assuming a larger role in economic affairs, the "Official Gazette" revealed yesterday.
The Ministry will comprise two secretariats, one for purely financial the other for economic matters. In future, the former will deal with all questions taken up hitherto by the Finance Ministry, while the latter will control prices, grant credits t agriculture and industry, and genera ly draft economic projects.
The secretariat for economics/will also assume the delicate task of settling, with the German authorities of occupation, economic problems arising from the occupation, the blockade, and the autarchical regime now prevailing in the larger part of Europe.
Finally. this secretariat will deal with problems of clearing, Treasury agreements that may be concluded with foreign countries, and with all questions pertaining to the movement of capital and regulation of transfers of funds.—Havas.
