OF SEPTEMBER 9, 1870
Ve are glad to learn that a meeting of those interested in the maintenance of popular lectures in Shanghai during the coming season, is to be held in the rooms of the Asiatic Society, Nanking Road, at 2 p.m. on Saturday next. to take steps for the purpose. The idea is, we believe. to carry on the lectures on a thoroughly public basis, apart from any special feature which might narrow their spirit or their usefulness, the lectures were so well appreciated last year, that we have no doubt interest Will be shown in their continuance,
