In the Luck sector. south of the Pripet marshes, the Germans claimed last night fo have captured Luck itself. They said earlier that German troops in this area were pursuing the Russians on sides of Lwow which the Russians admitted they were forced to evacuate. The Russians claimed this morning, however, that the German offensive in the Luck area hag been halted. A terrific battle is known to have been raging in this sector for some days end the Germans are reported to have suffered heavy losses in men and material.
Further south, on the Rumanian front, the Russians report again that all attempts by German and Rumanian troops to cross the River Pruth into Bessarabia had been beaten off.
Is is announced in Moscow that Russian planes have again bombed Constanza, Rumania's Black Sea port. [Reuter.
