More persons were sentenced to death by the Peoples' Tribunals of Brunn and Prague.
The condemned were charged with sabotage—Havas Telemondial. area The Soviet ' mid-day communique. Taconic as usual says: "During the might of October 12 our troops fought the enemy along the entire front. Fighting being particularly fierce in the direction of Viasma."
Russian Counter-attacks A smvlement to the communique save: "In the south-western direction of the front our troops fought stub-hornly against advancing enemy units. In several sections of this direction our troonne started counter-attacks.""
The suonlement adds that in the sama direction Soviet units. counterattacking the Germans. destroyed 120 lorries with ammunition, and motor-cycles. In another sector 500 German soldiers were killed. air force, attacking an enemy aerodrome, destroyed ten linkers, and damaged many other enarny aircraft, In another sector Soviet fivers des-troved several tanks and 100 lorries, "On the snoroaches to Leningrad." the sumnlement concludes. "ome of our tank units destroyed 13 anti-tank mina, 14 heavy machine-guns, four artillery observation poste and killed over 400 German officers and men."
