No Accommodation

"You would not know Oxford these days; it is packed full to over~ flowing with people from London and the south and southeast Coasts. There is no accommodation to be had anywhere—people come and beg you to take them in and, if you can-_ not, they actually ery. We havea mother and a little girl seven years, and the granded, an elderly man of 75. They came from East Ham and their home was bombed. It has no roof, no windows and most of the doors were blown of. They are very. plucky about it and do not mind at. all, Thave let them have the dining room and front and middle bedrooms, and as I am at the shop nearly every day now they have our home a great deal more than we do. The husband, an engineer, comes down. for occasional week-ends, so. we are really full up.
