No Raids So Far

"So tar we have not had a raid and that is why so. many people have come here. We get the sirens fairly often and we hear bombs falling.

Last Sunday three fell about two miles from our house; the windows and doors shook and rattled, and we heard that one man was killed and three injured.

"London, Liverpool and Birmingham, as well as the south and south-cast' Ports, have been pretty. well bombed, but people tell us that considering the intensity of the attacks and the hundreds of, tons of bombs dropped, the result of the damage from the German point of view must be Very disappointing. Hiller will not win the war that way it is certain, for it only makes us all the more determined to ght to the end, and the end will be very ditter for Germany and Italy as nothing is more certain than that we shall win, We are all ready to do anything to help fo that end. When one hears some of the Londoners talking and Knows what the RAP. is doing it makes us jolly proud: to be! British, "We get all we want to eat and wear, though butter, sugar and cooking fats are rationed, and bacon. 'The margarine, however, we got is really good and no.one looks as though they go hungry. Sweets are not too plentiful, the shops s0 soon sell out. When we get fresh stocks 'Wwe are' tremendously busy and. the trouble is we cannot get suflelent stock to satisfy everybody, Our old shop in the Haymarket has been damaged, though we are thank= ful to say the old front is still all right, The City shop had a big window blown out, but do not worry, England will win through, Our Colonies have been simply marvelous and rallied to the Old Flag even more than they did last time. Our boys are longing to get at Jerry and to make him pay for al they are doing to us, and i reckon our Alr Force has done a lot more to Germany than they have done to us. We not waste our bombs ike the Nazis "do."
