Necessary Adjustments

Tokyo, Feb. 24.

The fundamental principle of adjustment of general relations was necessary in order to create a friendly atmosphere between both nations, to which end Japan would redouble her efforts, the Foreign Minister said.

In the event this would be effected, the settlement of other long pending Issues, such as the protection of Japanese concessions in north Saghalien, would be settled, Mr. Matsuoka said.

He made this statement in reply to an interpellator, Mr. Sekijiro Fukuda. Mr. Fukuda asked Mr. Matsuoka questions, regarding the policy under which Japan would conduct the Soviet-Japanese trade negotiations.—United Press.
