Saigon, Feb. 24.
French Indo-China Army authorit. ies have cancelled the leaves of all officers and men and ordered them to return to their regiments, Japanese sources said yesterday.
The action was said by these sources to have been the result of a meeting on Fridey among high Army officials who decided to renew preparations for war in view of the Coming expiration of the armistice agreement between Thailand and Indo-China.
Meenwhile, Vice-Admiral Jean Decoux, Governor-General of Indo-China, who has been here on a regular winter visit, was planning to return by plane to Hanoi today.
Japenese sources said Admiral De-ceux expected to transfer the Army's General Headquarters from Hanoi to Saigon and at the same time to shift the South Indo-China Army Heed-quarters from Saigon to Cambodia to organize new defensive measures.
Troop trains were said by the Japanese to have been moving towards the Thai border since Saturday.
A French cruiser sailed from Saigon yesterday and two others left on Saturdzy, apparently headed for Siam Bay, the Japanese reports said.
Civil and military authorities generally said they hoped differences between the two countries could be bridged before the armistice expires.
They were giving the situation very close attention, however, and indications were that they would be prepared for military action should a stubborn stand by Thailand prevent a successful signing of the peace.—United Press.
