Lubrication Talk Heard by Society Of Engineers

Mr. H. G. B. Perry read a paper entitled the "Science of Lubrication" at the meeting of the Engineering Society of China held on Monday.

The lecturer dealt with theory and pointed out that whereas medianism is essential for the ut tion or control of all energy for performing useful work, the imper-factions of our methods resulted in the loss of much energy required to overcome friction between metallic surfaces, It was pointed out that lubrication is necessary to sustain motion be: cause of the impedance of "inerti and frictional resistance of the a "indeed electrical currents" anı "feimion between rubbing surfaces.

The nature of friction and the tartar of cohesion and surface con-amination influencing such were di cised in am earlier lecture, it being deduced from same that frictional resistance divided by the normal weight equals ce-efficient of friction.
