Paris, Mar. 16.
Sir Dadiba Merwanjee Dalai, the first Indian High Commissioner in GA London, died here yesterday, at the age of 71.
Sir Dadiba Dalai, who was knighted in 1924, represented India at many international and Imperial conferences, notably at the International Economic Conference at Genoa, in 1922, at the Hague Conference in the same year, and at the Imperial Economic Conference in 1923, in which year he was created Commander of the Order of the Indian Empire.—
Reuter. ruthless man, bent on having all the diamond fields under his control and stopping before nothing to attain his aim. As usual. he gives a sterling performance anc is responsible for ihe popularity of an otherwise average film. Mr. John Loder, a popular British actor, portrays the young doctor, framed and sentenced to a penal colony where he meets a shrewd convict, who discloses to him n secret diamond cache and enables him to avenge himself on his enemies. The heroine part is taken by Miss Anne Nagel, but she is seen too little. What she does, however, is well done and one may say that she will do bigger things in future. On the whole the picture affords fair enter-t, particularly to those who type of stories.
The main feature is preceded by two shorts. The first is "Stranger than Fiction," while the second.
"Swing with Bing," starring Mr. Bing Crosby, done in an enter is taininggmanner and shows an ama-tur golf contest, which ends with the popular crooner as a runner-up. Mr. Crosby sings one song, a little tuneful thing about a doctor and golf.
