Daring Exploits

"Let me tell you a fow exploits of this well-armed and well unit of our Navy which has become almost a legendary, but nevertheless reàl "Flying Dutchman" off the coast of Norway. I thought-it better not io mention; these facts before, but since the Lofoten exploit I think it oily fair that "Sleipner" is heard from. Sometime in November it sent to the bottom off Jaeren a convoy consisting of 5 ships with a loss tothe Nazis of 4000 men. The five ships were escorted by some of our accounted for another convoy. Once before that it stopped one of the coastal passenger steamers somewhere in the north of Norway and made prisoners of a number of Germans fat and popular comedian, Mr, Rose, in real trouble and no wonder: One evening "Juster", the nickname for another comedian, tall, thin and em-adated, appeared on the stage in uniform and carrying a placard on Which was written in letters which Could be clearly seen everywhere: "April 9." When he had crossed the stage Mr. Rose himself appeared in a similar uniform, fat, and well nourished, But on his uniform appeared in even bigger letters: "September 9," It was decreed shortly after that the uniform had to go and the comedian along with it—at least for a period. Poor Mr. Rose has lately been ¢om-pelled to pull in a few buttons in his trousers since many real and four-legged swines have left for Germany in company with their two-legged companions to enable the Nazi carriers-of-culture to continue their New Order emissions, "Norway is fast becoming a Mecca for the various Nazi bigwigs. It is not merely minor "leaders" or gauloiters who "honour" my country with their visits, No—the Reich-Feuhrers themselves consider it worth while, and—this is the real reason—necessary to see for themselves why the three million Norwegians are só difficult to. convert to Nazism. While Himmler was touring Trondheim the Reich-Jugend-Fauhrer, Axmann, held his Own invasion of Oslo, And he was not satisfied merely with a daylight parade—a torch-light procession led all the rulers' and the birds' to one of their so-called mass meetings in Oslo, The account of this torchlight procession which commenced at 530 pin, states that the torches were not lit before some time after the procession had started, It does not state whether this was due to a shortage of inflammable material or because they were afraid of a British ra "One of the results of Goebbel's visit to Norway was the inauguration of a "collection" to provide funds for the erection of Soldiers Homes in Norway. The official announcement to this effect was issued by the Herr Doctor in the beginning of February. The Feuhrer himself immediately contributed one million reichsmarks for this purpose, Perhaps he plans to recuperate this outlay from the sale in Finland of "Mein Kampf" which Herr Goebels recently announced had been translated into "Finnish", At least you must agree with me that this "Finnish" translation has got some significance at the present state of affairs. If it were not for that this wholesale building of Soldiers Homes everywhere in Norway certainly has an unpleasant aspect of permanence attached to it. None of you, I am sure, will send in any contributions to this fund, but the number of the account in Berlin is 79500 in "The Bank der Deutschen Arbeit,"
