Door Open for Victory

If the British victory at Keren has not completed the conquest of Abyssinia and Eritrea, it has certainly opened the door wide for final success, Apparently the lack of numbers and communications has prevented the British forces from making use of turning movements to throw forces behind the Italian front. Reports from the area received so far show, however, that gallant and desperate as was the Italian defence, once it was broken, their moral completely gave way, Not only has the collapse affected their troops, but their command is also disorganized, and no attempt at a rearguard action has yet been made, The British pursuit has rightly been pressed hard, and it is very possible that the Imperial troops will be in Asmara in a matter of days. The capture of Massawa is bound to follow shortly.
