May 6 will be the "Beginning of Summer," or Li Hsia, and we may expect a distinct increase ju daily temperatures from that date on. My readers will remember that a fortnight ago I called attention to the fact that April 20 was the day of "Corn Rain" and the beginning of a 15 day period during which much needed rain for the full growth of the first crops of cereals in-China in the Yellow River Basin and north.
