Wisdom "2" Weeklies

British The New Pepys writes in "Truth":

Sele—Mr. Eves brought a friend of his ince to ihe Club this am. (but I must not name him) who is engaged in the inventive dept of munition work, and did acquaint us of a new sort of bomb now being operated by our Air Force. Which I was gladd to hoare and is yet another instance of the superior inventiveness of our scientists fo that of their German opposites, who have seldom originated anything of themselves however cunning they may be in pinching and developing the inven-five discoveries of others. Again ran into the baker's girl on our doorstep as I was going out to my work. The worst thing abt her is her thick ankles, but her violet blue eyes, in particular when she smiles at you with them, do more than make up for it. But Lord!
