Following up on yesterday's raid on Chungking, waves of Japanese aval bombers today again blasted Gen, Chiang Kai-shek''s wartime eapltal, the Press Section of the Japanese Gentral China Seas Fleet announced tonight.
"Miltary targets within the city were severely attacked.
"the raiders roared across the city in. two. waves, appearing at 1. 'o'clock in the afternoon, of @ heavy curtain, of fire directed from the ground, first formation of bombere conce trated attacks near the West Gate, causing some 10 fires to break out.
Another formation reached the city two hours later, dumping high explosives on military factories and ware ho the eastern section of the city, oonsing extensive damage. All planes returned safely.
