here in a few days for Singapore. The old French ironclad Triomphante, formerly flagship of Admiral Human on this station, has been converted into a guardship for Saigon. The Austrian steel cruiser Panther was to leave Port Saidonthe 9th ult., en route for China. I note that Rear-Admiral Oxley has hoisted his flag in the British cruiser Grafton which is shortly to leave home for this station to relieve the Elly +r, The armor screw cruiser Aurore is shortly to relieve the Porpoise, and the sloops Algerine and Phenix will replace the gunboats Swift and Firebraut, by which means the squadron here will be greatly strengthened, the new vessels being of greater tonnage and armament, Hongkong, 13th June.
