The idea of illuminating the country: by means.of -numerous is under-the consideration of a select committee of the House of Commons. It will probably be carried into effect and should be a great success if only the simultaneous lighting can be arranged for. The present idea is to fix the lighting for a given hour, say ten o'clock, then to have signals by means of rockets and general display of fireworks scoompanied by bonfires all over England and Scotland. Ireland is not mentioned but I gather it is included.
