Thomas Lipton has sailed. for the United States, whither the Shamrock LI had preceded him, and he has gone out in a very hopeful frame of mind. "This hopefulness is, I believe, thoroughly genuine, and not merely assumed, and it is shared in no small measure by yachting experts generally in this country. Sit Thomas believes that the Shamrock I is a much better yacht than she appeared during the last America Cup races, when she experienced much bad luck, and that the Shamrock is decidedly faster than her elder sister.
