The country has just been treated to an exhibition of polities of the most." practical" sort which has centred in the United States Senate. Clark, one of the chief men of the State and one of the two men, both in the Democratic party, who have made unscrupulous political battle in that State. The other leader is Marcus Daly, one of Montana's mining kings. It was freely charged Clark spent more than a quarter of a million dollars to ensure his election.
