'A most delightful entertainment and one far more suited to the taste of children, is" Peter Pan," Mr. Barrie's adup'ation of his charming boo' "Phe Little White Bird. I was rather amused this morning in read. ing a neties of Mr. Bidwell' p'aye "Peggy Machree," which was produce! last evening at Wyadham 6, to see it sug-g sted that if the author of this new musical comedy studied Mr. Barrie's method for x few years he might write wore sueecssfaily. It seems to me that genins such as Mr. Barrie possesses must. be born with one; ly. no'xmount of study can ever be acquired. Peter Pan " is just full of quaint conevits, such as this gifte 1 author revels in, things so simple that one wonders [they have never occurred to one, Who else would think of a baby flying away #nd be coming a fairy, repevtyny nnd yoing but. on seeing the bassinette occupied by yet another baby, who seemed to be equally as dear 10 father and mother as he had been. xoing away for good. That boy wat Peter Bon, and be became the head of " band of stall boys who bad all fallen out of perambulat ru whilst nows were busy gossiping in ixensington Gardens, There were no girls in the coterie, because -girls "re never so stupid as to fall out of p rambu'atura. There in uch more on the same lines and he eco is churming!y acted. Miss Nina ucicault is Peter, and Miss Treve'yan Wenda small girl who mothers the band, ist the real fat and mother are played by Mr. Gerald clu. Maurier and Miss Dorothea Baird. I should say the piece will be the success of the winter season. aK
