Lee Ab-nyi, s coolie, was charged with selling milk without a licence in Peking Road at 11.30 a.m. on the 24th instant. He was farther charged with adulterating the milk with water.
Inspector Hill, of the Health Depart-|. ment, stated that accused was met witness' native assistant at the corner of Peking and Honan Roads on Tuesday morning carrying " basket containing several bottles of milk. When asked whether he bad a licence accused at once threw all the bottles on the ground, with the result they were all smashed, with the exception of on when this one was analyzed it was found to contain fifty-two per cent of water. Accased said that he had bought the milk from a dairy in the Sinza Road.
Inspector Hill said that this was not true, as there was no dairy in the Sinza Road.
