The Chairman refers to the proceedings at the Annual Meeting of Ratepayers, and to the criticism of the current Budget which took place; he expresses the opinion that the Finance Committee should use every endeavour to prevent exceeding. and where possible, to curtail, the expenditare estimat ted for the ensuing year.
'As a preliminary step it is decided to' obtain reports from the Heads of the nicipal Departments on th ity of further redaction of dinary Estimates without detriment to the efficiency of the public service, whereafter the matter will have the close attention of the Committees concerned.
