Early on Sunday morning the Rifle Range was a scone of unwonted activity. Khaki-clad artilleryman were assembly prepared to. fire off their annual rifle competition. The first shooting squad took up their position at 6.30 and from then on, till five o'clock in the afternoon, events followed one.another without in: terruption. Thirty-six entries had been received. and there were eight competitions to be decided.
The weather was not by any means ideal from a marksman's point of view, and no exceptional scoring was made. Drops of rain fell occasionall: i some of the: events the perspiring competitors seemed to be having rather a warm time—notably in the Dewar Cup competition, when the various gun quads had to cover about 400 yards at the "double," firing intermittently. On the whole a most instructive and enjoyable day was spent and the interest taken in the different competitions never did not allow of all ting down to break-flagged for a moment. The timetable
fast and tiffin together, which was provided on the Range.
