M. Jules Melegari, late Italian Minister at Tokio, who will shortly leave for the Embassy at St. Petersburg, has been decorated by the Emperor of Japan with the Grand Cordon of Sun. His Excellency was at a banquet in the Maple Club, Shiba Park, on the 12th, by Marquis Nabeshima, President of the Italian Society of Japan. Baron Komura, Minister of Foreign Affaira, gave in his official residence a farewell dinner to Mr. Melegari on Monday evening, the 17th instant, when Marquis Ito and Count Katsura were among those present.
