Another town has been under water for nearly a month. On my last visit there a week or so since I had to wade through water knee-deep. In this town the inconvenience kas indeed been serious. Trade has been nil. But a town still lower down the river has had a corner demolished by the floods. A large portion of the town jutted out triangle shaped into the river; upon this the current struck with such force that soon the whole tumbled on masse into the river.
