'A coolie was charged with bringing milk into the Settlement for sale, from an unlicensed dairy.
Inspector Hill, of the Health Department, said that for the last two months the accused had been bringing milk into the Settlement from an unlicensed dairy in the native city and supplying it to houses in Weihaiwei Road. On analysis, the milk was found] to contain 41.1 per cent of added water.
The accused was sentenced to three days' cangue and fourteen days' imprisonment, and the Magistrate said he would communicate with the City authorities, with a view to having the owner of the no licensed dairy summoned to appear.
