QUESTION, To the Editor of the "Nontu-Cua Darcy News."
Sin,—I noted in your editorial of the 24th a suggestion that open cars should be run. I firmly believe they would be as greatly appreciated here as they are in Canada and elsewhere. From snather point of view they woold serve a good purpose; for although there is a notice in every car that smoking is not allowed," it is seldom The H.-C. Herald and S. C. & C. Gazette. one enters a car io which there is not at least one foreigner smoking, and the conductors and inspectors do not tempt to stop it. Failing the open cars, I would suggest" Smoking! Trailers." Yet again, I have seen native passengers thrust back through the door that divides one class from the other on attempting to pass out through the first class, whilst it is the practice of many foreigners who travel second class to enter and leave through the first class without molestation.
Tam, ete.
