The Knitting Company

Ways for women here of gort are spitting silk, flattening tin-foil, and some other occupations. A man is going now to establish a knitting company and wants to hire forty women to work in it the advertisement has been already posted on the streets. The exact idea of opening this company is to enable ladies to curn their own living. People can hardly live because provisions, clothing, ote, are so dear, and a dollar only changes for 870 cash. On the other hand, in consequence of the war, most_of the silk weavers, fan-makers, tin-foil beaters and other workmen have stopped work, I do not know what they will do if the war still goes on.
