The Nanyang College was formally reopened on Friday of last week in the presence of Mr. Yang, an official belonging to the Shangpu, or Ministry of Commerce, which reminds us that the Nanyang College has been ro-named Commercial College of the Firat Class, owing to the institution being now under the direction of the Shangpu and not: the Nanyang Administration. The students, of whom th classes until this: moroing. of the College remains the same a was last year, but several Japanese structors are expected to arrive here next month to supplement the present staif—much-needed increase, as the staff of instructors has hitherto been much too small-for the large classes in that institution.
