Much-needed Information

A New Official to Examine Native Cotton.

The Shanghai Taotai has appointed an expectant district magistrate (Chihhsien) of this province, named Sun Hsin-yuan, to take charge of the Office for the Examination of Watered Cotton, in the suburbs of the Native City here. The Magistrate-Designate of the International Mixed Court, Mr. Tu' Hsin-chih, who went last week to Soochow to report his arrival from Nanking to Governor Hu Yuan-ting, was the next day, given his "Cha-tse." or Commission, with the seal of the Governor, officially appointing him Magistrate of the International Mixed Court.
